1) Support for USB keyboards (like the Korg Nano series)
2) Powered USB for the above (so as to connect keyboards that require power)

Or an expander unit that acts as usb host and connects to the usb port would be even better ;)

very good idea as it would make the unit properly useable for many people

Here's an easy one, how about labeling the USB port something other than USB MIDI which is vague at best, I know, how about "MIDI OUT". that should do. You see, if you guys had labeled the damn thing correctly in the first place I would not have wasted my time with your product because my keyboard puts MIDI out via USB, and finding a type B USB to MIDI adapter has been an exercise in futility. Thanks Alesis.

How about a upgrade path for current owners of a 1.0 product that should last more than 6 months? As a commercial software developer, it is important to recognize customers want solutions that work more than more features. Features are always sexy, particularly to the marketing members of the team, but please keep stability in mind. Look at the track record of some of your competitors, and their ability to support products long term, like Apogee for instance.

Im currently happy with the SWW GuitarJack as it gives me two inputs and is reliable. I also have an iPad and you could make me a customer with the following:
- Rugged construction that I could use at a gig
- more than two XLR/jack inputs; 4 would be fine, 6 amazing!
- sysex message support
Im not really understanding why people are asking for HDMI, etc. so I would also request that you focus on being a robust audio solution rather than some kind of multimedia hobbyist hub. -

Are there actually any plans for a gen 2 yet? I am a bit uneasy about purchasing the one that everyone has complaints about. Maybe a gen2 will be a bit more up to speed.
If gen 2 is in the works, any ETA? -

Question....So a korg nano midi keyboard controller will work with this so called dock? Cause my axiom 49 will not no matter what I do. I feel like I purchased a reject product. But Ill keep trying.

Are you using the midi 5 pin midi output? Did you check to make sure you don;t need a power adapter to use the midi out ports? Some controller's midi outputs while in usb midi mode will actually be sending from the computer/DAW and not the keyboard.

I would love for the iO Dock to support VIDEO MIRRORING!
I like to use Reactable Mobile for my iPad. I cannot mirror audio and video simultaneously out of the iO Dock currently. I CAN mirror video and audio out my iPad with a $40 Apple AV cable.
I know the video out does work on the iO dock, but it does not mirror the video screen which is what a lot of people want and need. Thanks.- view 3 more comments
