The website states that the drivers I downloaded are for windows 7 64 bit. Indeed, they install, and windows also locates the device and says it is installed correctly.
However, the Alesis Firewire software reports "No devices found" - and in addition none of my audio software can detect the device either.
I think your drivers are broken (or maybe never worked). When can we expect a fix?

The latest drivers work very well on Windows 7.
It may be that you have a FireWire card that is not suitable for use with the interface.
Windows PCs have never been known for shipping with top-notch FireWire cards. Since the beginning of FireWire audio, there have been issues with some cards not working with audio interfaces (when they do work with hard drives).
Now that $5-$25 cards are available from no-name import companies, it's even more likely that the FireWire card you are using is one that won't work reliably with audio interfaces.
If you have a no-name card, or if your card has 4-pin ports instead of 6 (an indication of a low-end card), or if you have a Dynex card (Alesis specifically says these ones won't work), go online and purchase a Belikin FireWire card. These will absolutely work with all Alesis interfaces.
Check out Alesis' FireWire troubleshooting guide here:

Also, if you built your PC yourself, you may have inadvertently left an IRQ conflict in your setup. This could prevent your card from seeing devices. Look into this here:

Getting Alesis Multimix Firewire to work on my Win 7 machine.
Uninstall Software again using procedure in troubleshooting guide from Alesis and reinstall.
This got me to actually get my Alesis Firewire icon to open up and show the interface. I still had no sound.
I could get choppy sound when setting the Operation Mode in the Alesis interface to Normal from Safe Mode 1 which was the default. This suggested sample rate/clock was wrong.
Windows 7 settings in Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Set your Alesis to default. HARDWIRE system to run in 48k mode by: click on Speakers, bring up:
Speakers > Properties > Advanced > Select 16 bit 48k mode, use test button to verify sound. If you get dinging bells you are in.
Mine now works. Hope it works for you.
Don't know if it mattered, but I installed the ASIO4ALL program, Dont think it did anything for me, but it did tell me that I could find the Alesis on the firewire.-
Thanks for sharing mike. For others, make sure to grab the latest driver from the multimix page on our site.
