Will IO dock be compatible with iPAD 3? Yes!
Trying to determine if I should Pickup an iPad 2 or an IPad 3. Since I will be staring at the display for many hours, the iPad 3 display is a consideration, otherwise there seems to be no major differences.

UPDATE:
The iodock is certified for iPad 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen.
If you need a grey adaptor for the newest iPad (3rd gen), click here:

The iPad 4th gen will not dock properly, but will be functional upon connection with Apple's lightening to 30-pin convertor cable.
Because of this docking issue, the iodock is not Apple certified for iPad 4th gen.

It has a new A5x processor and a higher res camera and retina display, I would call them major. Anyway, what's more problematic is the new dimensions.
Alesis stated in an earlier thread that they are currently looking into compatibility between ioDock and 3rd gen iPads and that if an insert is required they will supply them.
Hope that helps.
Cheers. -

I'm an iPad3 early adopter and I can tell you that the IO dock (albeit a little tight for my taste) works flawlessly with the IO dock at rev 1.07 firmware. They need a slightly different insert to really make it perfect though.

Thanks. Do they have an official adapter, or are you using the iPad2 adapter?
I bought the dock today. My wife has a iPad2 16G, so I'll play a little till I get my iPad.
Thanx

I've got an iPad 3. It look a little patience to make it align with the connector, but it works. It was necessary to remove the iPad 2 plastic insert from the IO Dock to make it fit at all. It would be nice for Alesis to resolve this.

I figured. It seems to be smaller than iPad 1, but thicker than iPad 2.

So is it just a matter of having an insert, does everything else function as expected?

--Yes, just the insert is needed.

Any update on this? Should I buy one knowing that an insert is in the works? Can I use it at all in the meantime?

If you sign up on the adapter list a notification will get sent to you when stock is on the way from the factory. No update other than that but yes it will happen.

Feeling a little gipped...
Bought the io dock for my iPad 3 and after firmware update it works, sort of (bit of hissing) but from reading this I should not be using it until the adapter comes out?
Is that correct?
Just signed up in the list link above.-
Yes, sorry the iODock only currently states iPad 1 and iPad 2 compadibility. We are changing this once the insert adapter is ready.
